This eerie, creepy jail was built in 1823 on the site of the medieval castle, which was destroyed in 1409. It has a history of violence and torture.

In 2005 a paranormal investigation team reported poltergeist activity in the jail and this was reported on national media.

Some of our guests have reported the ouija board spinning round and round on its own, whilst the planchette didn’t move and another of our guests had her bag snatched from her shoulder when no one was by her, and people in the room could hear scratching noises on her bag!
